The disastrous 2011 edition of the Estonian LAN event digifest has ended without the final being played.
digifest 2011 which started on March 22, has more than two months later finalized. The tournament was on the last day of the event, which was March 23, announced to be finished online, due to a series of technical issues and the lack of spare computers.
Over the past months the bracket reached the Grand Final, where Power Gaming from the upper-bracket would take on Online Kingdom from the lower-bracket. Joni "Freon" Huumo has however informed HLTV.org that the match will not be played.
"We couldn’t play the final because lurppis being in USA and jigetus being in civilian service camp for 4weeks, we decided to split the money and share the first place. There was supposed to be some kind of invite to this big lan event, we got that invite, though I'm not sure if there really was any invite at all" – Said Joni "Freon" Huumo.
Power Gaming and Online Kingdom will therefore split the €2,500 cheque, giving €1,500 going to Power Gaming, while Online Kingdom will get €1,000 and the invite. Whether there will be an invite for Online Kingdom for a big LAN event is still to be determined, as the team has received no information on the matter as of yet.
